Learning to walk

Obviously there are a lot of changes that happen during the first years of life. I was pondering the changes Mary's gone thru this last year and remembered this video. She's so pumped to finally be walking and then OH! It's funny because she's not hurt. I don't know why I get a kick out of this video so much??? Maybe the sound effects???

Day 5

Day 5 baby! I can open it pretty good and new colors are forming. You can't tell by the picture but it has a little yellow outline. We'll see what the future holds for my dear eye.

Day 4

This is me and my Mom and Dad last Saturday getting ready for the Texas Roundup 10K. It was a lot of fun to run an event together. Mom and Dad walked the 5K and lapped the Texas Governors wife. Don't mess with Texas or should I say Utah?

Day 3

So luckily I was late to church today because the Bishop announced our win and wanted me to stand up to show everyone my Rocky Balboa. Actually it would have been nice to get it out of the way instead of listening to the gasping reactions from those who did not know. (definantly not thinking this is funny)

We are one of the few stakes that still holds women's basketball. Last night our ward was in the Championship. Down by 5 with less than a min. to go my teammate nails a three. We are down two and decide to put a so called press on them. I get their guard to pick up her dribble in our backcourt and proceed to play tight D on her. She gets a little frustrated and starts clearing some space between us with her elbows. Well, she did her job and caught me right in the eye. It caused instant swelling. Here are my pics of Day 1 and Day 2. Oh, by the way she turned it over so our ball under our basket with 12 seconds to play. We drew up a beautiful play where we lined everyone outside the 3 point line and one of our guards would beat her man for a layup and the game. They played her tight, she was the only one hitting anything, so with one eye I spotted our other guard who cut to the basket wide open only her shot bounced off the rim and directly to our forward who put up a beautiful floater and swish! We are now up 1 with two seconds. The refs kindly give the ball to them at half court and put two seconds back on the clock. They have a player who is 6'3 probably taller, so of course they are getting the ball to her. She turns and puts up a beaut, off the board, off the rim, into our guards hands. The stake Championship is ours!!! It was fun to play again. Now the evidence of a well fought game.
